Competition Formats

There will be two divisions within the same competition in Døds World Tour: the Individual division and the Team division. Athletes earn points for the official World Tour ranking, both in the Team ranking and the Individual ranking. All points from all competitions count toward the overall standings. Points from the Individual division determine which athletes qualify for the Døds World Championship.

Individual Scores Competition

Competition Structure:

  1. Round 1: Freestyle

    • Participants: up to 40 athletes

    • Format: Athletes perform a freestyle døds dive

    • Judging: Five judges evaluate specific aspects:

      • Head Judge: Overall performance

      • Judge 2: Steez

      • Judge 3: Technical execution

      • Judge 4: Inrun

      • Judge 5: Landing

  2. Round 2: Classic

    • Participants: The top 20 athletes from Round 1 advance

    • Format: Athletes perform a classic døds dive

    • Judging: Five judges:

      • Head Judge: Overall performance

      • Judge 2: Steez

      • Judge 3: Overall (previously technical)

      • Judge 4: Inrun

      • Judge 5: Landing

  3. Final: Freestyle

    • Participants: The top 10 athletes based on combined scores from Rounds 1 and 2

    • Format: Athletes perform a freestyle døds dive

    • Scoring: All athletes start with zero points in the final. The final performance alone determines the winner

    • Judging: Same criteria as Round 1

  • 1st place: 100 points

  • 2nd place: 80 points

  • 3rd place: 60 points

  • 4th place: 50 points

  • 5th place: 45 points

  • 6th place: 40 points

  • 7th place: 36 points

  • 8th place: 32 points

  • 9th place: 29 points

  • 10th place: 26 points

  • 11th place: 24 points

  • 12th place: 22 points

  • 13th place: 20 points

  • 14th place: 18 points

  • 15th place: 16 points

  • 16th place: 15 points

  • 17th place: 14 points

  • 18th place: 13 points

  • 19th place: 12 points

  • 20th place: 11 points

  • 21st place: 10 points

  • 22nd place: 9 points

  • 23rd place: 8 points

  • 24th place: 7 points

  • 25th place: 6 points

  • 26th place: 5 points

  • 27th place: 4 points

  • 28th place: 3 points

  • 29th place: 2 points

  • 30th place: 1 point


Team division 

Team Structure:

  • Maximum of 2 athletes per team pr event

  • If an athlete is unable to attend a competition, the team may select a substitute to represent both the sponsor and the team. This must be approved by DDL in advance

  • Teams earn scores based on their athletes’ individual performances in each Døds World Tour event

Scoring System:

  • Each athlete’s points from the individual competition contribute to the team’s total

  • If only one team member participates, the team earns points solely from that athlete's performance

  • Team points can only be earned in official Døds World Tour competitions

 

Special “Turbo Charged event" Format

  • Occurrence: Included only in select competitions.

  • Timing: Conducted as a fourth round, after the individual final.

  • Format:

    • Three athletes dive simultaneously in a "Flower døds dive."

    • Teams select a third dødser to join them, who must not be part of another team.

    • Athletes not part of a team or chosen for the Flower format cannot participate.

  • Judging: All five judges evaluate the Flower døds as overall judges.

Flower Round Scoring:

  • Points are added to the team’s overall score but do not affect individual rankings.

  • Standard scoring for the Flower round:

    • 1st place team: 100 points

    • 2nd place team: 80 points

    • 3rd place team: 60 points

    • 4th place team: 50 points

    • 5th place team: 45 points

    • 6th place team: 40 points

    • 7th place team: 36 points

    • 8th place team: 32 points

    • 9th place team: 29 points

    • 10th place team: 26 points

 

Podium Presentations

  1. Per Event (Døds World Tour) Podiums:

    • Podium 1: Top 3 individual athletes of the competition

    • Podium 2: Top 1 team of the competition

    • Podium 3: Top 3 athletes from the host country (National Champions)

  2. Final Stop of the Døds World Tour Podiums:

    • Podium 1: Top 3 individual athletes of the final competition

    • Podium 2: Top 1 team of the final competition

    • Podium 3: Top 3 individual athletes of the Døds World Tour (overall rankings)

    • Podium 4: Top 3 teams of the Døds World Tour (overall rankings)
