The Døds Diving League (DDL), the global governing body for the sport of Døds freestyle diving, has announced today that the Aquafolies waterpark, located in the city of Bourg-en-Bresse in France, will host an official stop of the 2026 World Tour on June 20th, marking the league’s second consecutive season in the country and a key milestone in the sport’s rapid growth.

Following a successful debut in France, the return signals strong momentum for døds diving in the country. With a fast-growing fanbase and some of the sport’s top athletes emerging from the European nation, the event is set to become a major highlight of the 2026 season.

The world’s best athletes will compete for crucial World Tour points and qualification for the DDL World Championship at the end of the season. Among them, French stars Côme Girardot and Team 00 Nation – reigning world champions – will headline the event on home soil.

The competition features 30-40 athletes from all around the world competing in teams across four rounds, progressing from qualification to knockout stages (20, 10, and 5 athletes in the final). Men and women compete in the same category. Dives are performed from 10-13 meter platforms and judged on power, technical execution, style, landing, and overall impression.

The event will be broadcast live internationally, with distribution across multiple global platforms, bringing the energy of Bourg-en-Bresse to a worldwide audience.

“France has quickly become one of our most exciting markets, with incredible talent and a highly engaged community,” said Paul Rigault, President of DDL. “Bringing the World Tour to Bourg-en-Bresse with Aquafolies is a natural next step as we continue to build a long-term home for the sport in this fantastic country.”

“This World Tour event is a fantastic opportunity, as it aligns perfectly with the park’s momentum: reaching an ever-growing audience and becoming a global benchmark for entertainment and high-adrenaline experiences,” said Olivier Gilliocq, director of the Aquafolies waterpark.
